MOR for ANSYS

The development of MOR for ANSYS has been started during my work at Simulation Lab, IMTEK . Originally the software was called mor4ansys. It performs implicit moment matching directly for ANSYS finite element models. Examples of model order reduction for different engineering models can be found at the Applications page.

A newer version, MOR for ANSYS 2.5 is distributed through CADFEM. New features include:

MOR for ANSYS writes the system matrices of a reduced system in the Matrix Market format. It is possible to work with the reduced model in MATLAB/Simulink (see below examples from MOR for ANSYS users), Mathematica (see Post4MOR) and Python (see Post4MOR). Results of simulation with the reduced model can be postprocessed directly in ANSYS. Finally, we have experience with converting the reduced model to Saiber MAST and VerilogA.

MOR for ANSYS produces a compact model in the Matrix Market format. Post4MOR is a set of functions in Mathematica or Python to make transient and harmonic simulation for a reduced model.
